- Summer/Winter Alignment: Unlike other councils, Balloo's 2026 hours have standardized to a 16:45 finish year-round to manage site throughput.
- Mandatory Booking: You MUST book your visit in advance via the council website. Arriving without a booking will result in being turned away.
- Resident Only: Site access is strictly for residents of the Ards and North Down Borough. Proof of address is required.
- Vehicle Restrictions: Cars, single-axle trailers, and small vans are permitted. Double-axle trailers and large commercial-style vehicles are prohibited.
- Last Entry: The gates effectively close at 16:30-16:40 to ensure the site is clear by 16:45.
- Oil Tanks: If disposing of an oil tank, it must be drained and cut in half before arrival.
